We use the following approach and philosophy in the provision of our services.

Working with a Holistic Approach
We work with a holistic approach that will strengthen your organizational capacity and leadership effectiveness at the same time as you work to create new and effective systems within your organization. We will work consciously to make the best use of all of our interventions as opportunities for individual leadership learning and collective or organizational learning.

Working from Clear Intention, Purpose and Values
We are committed to an approach that ensures the clarity of the intentions, purpose and values that drive program, process or organizational changes. We will support you in laying this critical groundwork for successful performance and then help you in creating a clear vision and measurable outcomes for the work. In our leadership development and executive coaching work we will also work with clarity of purpose and intention as the deeper essence from which new leadership insights, skills and competencies emerge.

Working with the People
We will work with you to engage staff in the development of new processes, policies, systems or structures because we believe that people only support what they create. Both system centered changes and people centered changes rely on people, because people create and use the systems. We build opportunities for “join-in” throughout the development process, not seek “buy-in” when it is time to implement a new performance measurement system or new work process. By creating and hosting highly participative processes, individual wisdom of each person will emerge, connections and relationships will grow, new collective insights will unfold and leadership and commitment will be mobilized.

Organizations are Living Systems
We believe that organizations are living systems and as such there is the wisdom and capacity to change – to recreate itself – just as in any natural living system. People don’t resist change, they resist being changed! Our work as consultants is to support the opening to new possibilities by working with the natural human process for change i.e. “transition”. This is an “inside job” within each person. We will work with your leaders to understand and make their own transitions as well as to create plans that invite others to work through these transitions both individually and as organizational units.

Start with What Already Works
We believe that in organizational development it is essential to honour the past, build new initiatives on what is already working within the organization, and spread new organizational practices through learning and innovation. Our processes will support you in acknowledging what has been accomplished and challenge you to look again. We will work with models and frameworks that invite you to look at the issues through new lenses and to create and try out new and emergent ideas rather than waiting for a perfect plan. New levels of listening, inquiry and personal investment are required to open these new possibilities for leaders and for teams. New processes which include rapid prototyping and experimentation and lots of feedback loops are required. None of this can be done without having a risk assessment and management strategy that allows creativity while at the same time balancing risk.
